Fun Fact
How Pickleball Got Its Name: In the summer of 1965, pickleball was founded by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell and Barney McCallum on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Within days, Joan Pritchard had come up with the name “pickle ball”—a reference to the thrown-together leftover non-starters in the “pickle boat” of crew races.
We have balls and a few paddles available for use. Students are welcome to bring their own paddle to the class.
This semester we will have two 8-week sessions. Each session will be limited to 12 students so that we stay within the recommended student-teacher ratio.
Teacher Information
Hi! My name is Kylie and I help with the after-school pickleball program. I am currently a student at BYU, working toward my goal of becoming a Radiologic Technologist. I’ve always loved sports and grew up playing soccer, but over the past couple of years, I’ve found a new passion for pickleball! When I have free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and being with my family. I’m excited to be with this program and helping the kids develop their skills while having fun!
