Girls Who Code
Rock Canyon is sponsoring a Girls Who Code Club! This is a free after school program for 3rd-6th grade girls. Join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models using computer science to change the world. Students majoring in Computer Science at BYU will facilitate our program by leading our club members through guided lessons to teach concepts of coding and computational thinking.
The Girls Who Code organization has three core values:
Sisterhood-Join a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models where girls learn to see themselves as computer scientists.
Code-Learn the concepts of loops, variables, conditionals and functions that form the basis for all programming languages.
Impact-Work in teams to design a computer science impact project that solves real world problems that the girls care about.
